Preparations underway for Putin's video address to UN General Assembly in Sept - Peskov (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has confirmed that preparations are currently underway for a video address by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the UN General Assembly, which is due to take place in September.

Journalists raised a question about the preliminary list of General Assembly speakers released by the UN, according to which, Putin is scheduled to speak on September 22, and asked Peskov whether a video address is actually being prepared.

"It's true that the side presiding at the General Assembly proposed in connection with the epidemiological situation that heads of state record their addresses. This address is being considered and prepared," Peskov said.

This will be some time "after September 20," he said.

"Of course, delivering a speech at the General Assembly is always a serious event, and it takes time to prepare," Peskov said.
