Moscow willing to cooperate with Berlin on Navalny incident - Federation Council's Klintsevich

MOSCOW. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Russia stands ready to cooperate with Germany to clarify the situation surrounding opposition activist Alexei Navalny and expects Berlin to provide evidence proving that he was poisoned, Russian Federation Council Defense and Security Committee member Franz Klintsevich said.

"I am sure that our law enforcement agencies are willing to cooperate on the matter," Klintsevich told Interfax on Wednesday, in commenting on official statements from Berlin that Navalny was poisoned in Russia with a nerve agent.

Russian law enforcement agencies have asked Berlin for legal assistance and requested that "evidence be presented," he said.

"We will seek to have these things clarified and stand ready to cooperate," he said.

However, "Berlin doesn't want to cooperate but is only leveling accusations at us," he said.
