BERLIN. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Berlin expects Moscow to explain the situation surrounding Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny, and the Russian government can and must answer these questions, German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel said.
"We expect the Russian government to provide explanations on the matter. There are very serious questions which only the Russian government can answer. And it must answer. Alexei Navalny's fate has drawn the attention of the whole world, and the world will expect to receive answers to the questions," Merkel told journalists in Berlin on Wednesday.
