MOSCOW. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Russia stands ready to cooperate comprehensively with Germany to clarify the situation surrounding opposition activist Alexei Navalny, but Berlin has still not answered the questions that Russian prosecution agencies forwarded to it earlier, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"On the whole, we confirm that we are prepared for and interested in fully interacting and exchanging information on this subject with Germany," Peskov told Interfax on Wednesday.
Asked how the Kremlin will respond to Berlin's statement that a Novichok-class nerve agent has been found in Navalny's body, Peskov said, "We cannot give a qualified response to the abovementioned statements for now."
"The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has forwarded an official inquiry to the German side, expecting to receive an official answer," Peskov said.
"Our doctors have also officially proposed an exchange of information, and unfortunately, they have still not received an answer from their German colleagues," Peskov said.
"Before the patient was transported to Berlin, a set of tests was carried out in our country, in keeping with all international standards, and no toxic substances were identified," he said.
