Phone call regarding Navalny intercepted by radio-electronic intelligence - Lukashenko

MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax) - The phone call between western representatives concerning Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny was intercepted by a radio-electronic intelligence station, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

"We deployed that [radio-electronic intelligence] station in Grodno; it has super-modern equipment and super-professional staff, so we have intercepted that call," Govorit Moskva radio chief editor Roman Babayan quoted Lukashenko as saying in one of his interviews.

According to Babayan, who took part in the interview with the Belarusian leader, Lukashenko insisted that the recording was authentic. In the opinion of Belarusian security services, the "intercepted" phone call "was not between a Pole and an American; specialists believe it was between Americans, given their accent."
