MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has had a telephone call with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Kremlin press service said.
"The discussion of the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone continued. Both parties expressed serious concern about the incoming information on the involvement of militants of illegal armed units from the Middle East in the fighting," it said.
"Putin yet again insisted on the need to immediately stop the hostilities and resume political-diplomatic efforts toward settling the conflict in keeping with the statements by the presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries (Russia, France, the U.S.) of October 1, 2020," it said.
The conversation was arranged at Armenia's proposal, and Putin and Pashinyan "agreed to continue contacts in various formats," it said.
