YEREVAN. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan carried out several missile attacks on towns in Nagorno-Karabakh on Wednesday, Armenian Defense Ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.
"Today there were several missile attacks on Stepanakert, Shushi, Gadrut and several other towns. Dozens are injured," Hovhannisyan said at a briefing on Wednesday evening, adding that the fighting still continued.
"Fierce fighting is under way, the Karabakh army has been counting successes. The enemy lost a substantial amount of equipment, Karabakh struck powerfully on various fronts," Hovhannisyan said.
According to the latest reports, on Wednesday Azerbaijani troops "attempted to hide in Iran after powerful strikes were carried out from the Karabakh side. They tried to hide in Iran... Iran's armed forces and political leadership are taking steps accordingly. I am not in a position to comment on Iran's actions," Hovhannisyan said.
