YEREVAN. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Two unmanned aerial vehicles of the Azerbaijani Armed forces were destroyed in the southern sector of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone on Thursday, Armenian Defense Ministry spokesperson Shushan Stepanyan wrote on Facebook.
"Minutes ago, two enemy UAVs were hit in the southern direction," Stepanyan said.
"Precision artillery strikes in the southern direction inflict great losses on enemy manpower. Armenian units had recently destroyed four enemy D-30 howitzers with their crews and ammunition," she said.
Fighting resumed in the southern and northern sectors of the Karabakh conflict zone on Thursday morning, the press service of the Defense Ministry of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic said earlier.
Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev, in turn, wrote on Twitter on Thursday that Azerbaijan's air defense forces had downed an Armenian "kamikaze drone", without saying exactly where it happened.
