Armenian Foreign Ministry describes Azerbaijani attack on journalists in Karabakh as intentional

YEREVAN. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The Armenian Foreign Ministry has described the Azerbaijani attack on journalists in Shusha, Nagorno-Karabakh, as intentional.

"The Azerbaijani attack on journalists performing their professional duties in peaceful populated localities is intentional and aimed to hinder documentation and presentation before the international community of the war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani army," the ministry said in a statement.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry urged the international community, human rights institutions, and entities promoting free speech to pay attention to "the outrageous fact of a violent breach of the right to receive information."

The Azerbaijani army twice fired missiles at the Holy Savior Cathedral in Shusha on Thursday. Three citizens of Russia, among them journalists Yury Kotenok and Levon Arzanov, were injured. One of them is in a serious condition. The journalists were visiting the cathedral following the first attack to report on its consequences.
