Russian, Turkish servicemen practice joint road patrol in northwestern Syria

IDLIB, Syria. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Russian and Turkish servicemen have practiced joint patrol of M4 highway in the Idlib de-escalation area in northwestern Syria using drones and armored vehicles, deputy head of the Idlib de-escalation area's coordination center Yevgeny Polyakov told the press.

The servicemen practiced interaction by communication means, coordinated usage of electronic countermeasure systems, and evacuation of troops and damaged vehicles.

According to the exercise scenario, a Turkish Kirpi armored vehicle hit a mine, becoming an easy target for militants, and troops organized all-round defense.

Both sides demonstrated high skills during the training, Polyakov said.
