MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Denmark has joined the EU sanctions against Russia over the poisoning of Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny, Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod said.
"Of course, we will join sanctions against those people," Kofod said at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Denmark "strongly condemns the attempt on the life of Alexei Navalny by means of a warfare chemical agent, which happened in Russia," Kofod said, noting that the poisoning had been confirmed by laboratories of Germany, Sweden, France, and the OPCW.
"We demand that a transparent, comprehensive and thorough investigation be conducted to find out who has tried to kill Alexei Navalny, so that no one goes unpunished," Kofod said.
