BISHKEK. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Army servicemen and hardware will be deployed to the Kyrgyz capital to ensure the state of emergency, which begins at 8 p.m. on Friday; there will be army checkpoints in the city, the order of Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov says.
"The Armed Forces General Staff is tasked with deploying military units and hardware to the city of Bishkek in order to organize checkpoints, to prevent armed clashes, to ensure law and order, and to protect the civilian population," the president's order on the state of emergency, which was published by the presidential press service on Friday, said.
