MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is discussing the situation near Russian borders, in particular, in the South Caucasus, with members of the Russian Security Council.
"In view of the pending meeting between the foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, Russian President Vladimir Putin has informed meeting participants about his phone calls with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"The meeting participants reiterated their ceasefire call on the two states," he said.
The exchange of opinions on the situation in Kyrgyzstan also continued at the meeting, Peskov said.
"The importance of the soonest stabilization was noted as the way to prevent [Kyrgyzstan] from sliding into chaos," he said.
