BISHKEK. Oct 12 (Interfax) - All was quiet in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, overnight, and no provocations were observed, the Bishkek city police department told Interfax on Monday.
"There were no facts of destabilization and possible provocations either observed or recorded in Bishkek," a police representative said.
In his words, the night was quiet and the city remained calm in the morning of October 12. "Bishkek is being protected by the army, the police, and neighborhood patrols, which ensure public security and order round-the-clock," the police representative said.
Motor and pedestrian traffic resumed normally since 5 a.m. All businesses and state institutions are operating to the fullest extent.
A curfew was declared in the Kyrgyz capital on October 10 for the period from 9 p.m. till 5 a.m. The Bishkek commandant prohibited sales of weapons, restricted sales of alcoholic beverages after 6 p.m., and outlawed rallies, gatherings, and marches. Roadblocks were placed at the entrances to the city.
