Curfew in Bishkek reduced by 1 hour

BISHKEK. Sept 12 (Interfax) - The duration of curfew in Bishkek has been reduced by one hour, the press service for the Bishkek Main Interior Affairs Department said.

Curfew will last from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. starting on October 12, the press service said.

"Curfew on the territory of the city of Bishkek during the period of the state of emergency will be in place between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. for all citizens and stateless persons with the exception of state and municipal servants in charge of supporting the capital's vital infrastructure. The relevant order from the Bishkek commandant is now pending," the press service said in a report released on Monday.

Curfew has been in place between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. since October 10.

Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov has reintroduced a state of emergency in the capital. The state of emergency will remain in place between October 12 and October 19.
