MINSK. Oct 13 (Interfax) - Former Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya has presented an ultimatum to President Alexander Lukashenko, demanding that he resign by October 25 and warning that otherwise Belarus might see a national strike.
"Two months of a political crisis, violence, and lawlessness has passed - and we've had enough of this. We will declare a popular ultimatum on October 25. The regime has 13 days to meet three mandatory requirements: Lukashenko must announce his resignation, violence on the streets must be fully stopped, and all political prisoners must be freed," Tikhanovskaya said in a statement published on her Telegram channel on Tuesday.
