Production of precision-guided weapons among Ukraine's priorities - NSDC secretary

KYIV. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov has listed the production of precision-guided weapons as among the country's policy priorities, the NSDC said on its website on Thursday.

"We are closely following the ongoing conflicts and understand that our priority is the production of high-precision weapons in the fight against the occupier," Danilov said during a live broadcast with Washington organized by the Center for U.S.-Ukrainian Relations, the Ukrainian Congressional Committee of America, and the American Foreign Policy Council.

Among other priorities, he named defense industry reform "with maximum corporatization and involvement of NATO countries in joint arms production in Ukraine."

Danilov also thanked international partners for extending comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in the field of security, adding that the Ukrainian authorities allocate at least 5% of GDP for the country's defense needs.
