MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu issued an order on Thursday to promptly deploy a multi-purpose mobile hospital in South Ossetia in order to provide it assistance in the fight against coronavirus.
The order was issued in accordance with a decision made by Russian President Vladimir Putin. "Due to a request from South Ossetia, the supreme commander-in-chief made the decision to deploy a mobile hospital in Tskhinval. I ask that this work be started today," Shoigu said at a meeting on containing the spread of coronavirus.
The Defense Ministry of South Ossetia earlier sent the Russian Defense Ministry a request to deploy a military field hospital in the republic with 150 beds, to send the relevant specialists, and to provide the relevant medical equipment.
