One person injured in Armenian missile strike on Azerbaijan's Gabala district - prosecutors

BAKU. Oct 22 (Interfax) - A resident of the Gabala district of Azerbaijan has been injured in a missile strike by the Armenian Armed Forces, whose targets included the Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office said on Thursday.

"As a result of a ballistic missile strike on Azerbaijani territory on Thursday, Murad Amirbekov, a resident of the Gabala district born in 2003, sustained injuries of varying degrees. Significant material damage has also been caused to five private homes," the Prosecutor General's Office said.

"The Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline was among the targets of the missile strike. Azerbaijan's Air Defense forces managed to neutralize the missile, whose parts fell not far from the pipeline," it said.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said earlier that Armenia fired missiles upon the Azerbaijani cities of Gabala, Siyazan, and Kurdamir on Thursday.

The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Baku's claims.
