MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - The cluster's work on building an unscrewed boat in the Far East has been mothballed, Concern Morinformsystem-Agat said.
"Work is now put on hold until decision to open budget funding," the document said.
The Russian Industry and Trade Ministry approved the creation of the maritime robotics cluster in 2018, it said.
"Throughout 2019 this work continued to create the innovative technological sector in the Far East: a scientific and production association for underwater robotics and maritime instrument-making, innovative projects in the area of high-speed vessel-building and ground-effect vehicles (GEV) for the oceanic zone. The Directorate for Far Eastern projects is working to create an experimental prototype of a maritime robotic system," the document said.
The cluster was creating an unmanned boat, according to an annual report.
"The results of the preparatory work led to a decision to carry out design and development work to devise a list of payloads to equip the boat further. For the purpose of the project implementation, a letter to Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov asks about a possibility of budget funding for the project under the state program to develop shipbuilding in the period to 2030," the document said.
Concern Morinformsystem-Agat makes Bal coastal defense missile systems, Club-M mobile coastal missile systems, and artillery armament for ships, as well as other systems for the Navy.
