Lavrov to leave for visits to Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia on Oct 26

MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia next week, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay a working visit to Greece on October 26. While in Athens, the Russian foreign policy chief will hold negotiations with the foreign minister, will be received by the prime minister, and will meet with the chairperson of the leading opposition party, the Coalition of the Radical Left," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Thursday.

The meetings will deal with aspects of bilateral political and economic interaction and international problems, including the situation in the eastern Mediterranean, she said.

On October 28, Lavrov will be on a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he will meet with the leadership of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and hold talks with the foreign minister and other top government officials. Lavrov will also have a separate meeting with Milorad Dodik, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zakharova said.

"On October 28-29, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay a working visit to Serbia. He plans to meet with the president of Serbia and take part in a ceremony marking the completion of the interior of the Church of St. Sava and the lighting of an eternal flame at the Cemetery of the Liberators of Belgrade," she said.

During the visit, the parties will discuss Russian-Serbian relations and international matters, including the settlement of the Kosovo problem, Zakharova said.
