CSTO secretary general, Kyrgyz FM discuss coalition security

MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Stanislav Zas and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbayev discussed security issues at a meeting in Moscow on Thursday.

"The Kyrgyz foreign minister reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's adherence to all the commitments earlier assumed in the CSTO format. He also highlighted with pleasure Kyrgyzstan's readiness to facilitate increasing the efficiency of the CSTO's multifaceted activities, its organizational support, and its staffing," the CSTO Secretariat said in a statement.

Zas briefed Kazakbayev on the organization's efforts to prepare for upcoming meetings of its charter bodies.

"The parties agreed to closely cooperate to ensure reliable security for CSTO member states and stabilize the international situation," the statement said.

The CSTO is made up of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
