MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has declined to comment on the media reports that the first deputy director of the Federal Security Service (FSB), Sergei Smirnov, has been dismissed.
"I can neither deny nor confirm this to you," Peskov told journalists on Friday when asked for comment.
Yesterday several media outlets reported, citing their sources, that Smirnov had been removed from office after turning 70, the maximum age for a public servant.
