Azerbaijan supports Turkey on all issues - Azerbaijani president

BAKU. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Turkey's Republic Day, saying that Azerbaijan supports "brotherly Turkey," according to a letter published on the Azerbaijani president's website.

"Your firm and definite position on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, your unshakable support for our cause are fine examples of our solidarity and are very precious to our people. Azerbaijan, for its part, supports brotherly Turkey on all issues," Aliyev said in the letter.

"I am confident that the unshakeable unity and brotherhood of Azerbaijan and Turkey, which is our great legacy for future generations, will continue to develop and grow stronger in accordance with the motto 'One nation, two states,'" he said.

Azerbaijan "always follows Turkey's successes with satisfaction" and is happy about these successes like its own achievements, Aliyev said.

"In the past few years, this brotherly country, demonstrating its political, economic, social, military, and technological development, has turned into a center of power pursuing independent policies on a global scale. You have played an invaluable role in all these achievements. The great trust and confidence of your brotherly people in you are the highest evaluation of the policies pursued for the good of your country," Aliyev said in his letter to Erdogan.
