YEREVAN. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan said at a meeting with French Ambassador in Yerevan Jonathan Lacote that Turkey's increasing involvement in the region is negatively affecting efforts to maintain security.
"At the meeting, the ambassador's attention was drawn to the grave violation by Azerbaijan of the three humanitarian ceasefire agreements which were achieved through the joint consistent efforts undertaken by the OSCE [Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe] Minsk Group co-chairs," the press service for the Armenian Security Council sad.
Grigoryan "stressed the negative impact of Turkey's growing involvement on ensuring regional security and stability, as is evidenced by the military-technical support it's extending to Azerbaijan, the recruitment and transfer of foreign terrorists and militants to the conflict zone, as well as its calls for resolving the conflict by military means," the press service said.
The French ambassador, in turn, reaffirmed the need to resolve the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh exclusively through peaceful and diplomatic methods, it said.
