MINSK. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Police officers in Minsk have detained a young woman suspected of throwing stones at the Central district police department and police vehicles during a protest demonstration on October 25, Belarusian Interior Ministry spokesperson Olga Chemodanova said.
"The law enforcement detained a 26-year-old girl in Minsk while preventing mass unrest last Sunday. She was among the aggressive people pelting transport and the building of the Central district police department with stones," Chemodanova said on a Telegram channel.
The woman is treated as "a suspect in a criminal case opened into the organization and preparation of actions grossly violating public order or active participation in them," Chemodanova said.
Speaking to Interfax on Sunday, October 25, Chemodanova said participants in an unsanctioned protest broke windows in the Central district police department of Minsk. Police used special equipment against protesters in that very part of the city.
