YEREVAN. Oct 29 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani forces have resumed fire upon the cities of Stepanakert, Shushi, and Martakert in Nagorno-Karabakh, the press service of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR)'s Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
According to the press service, the Azerbaijani forces are firing Smerch rocket launchers at the populated localities.
"The Azerbaijani forces are firing Smerch rocket launchers at the cities of Stepanakert, Shushi, and Martakert. Once again, the enemy has breached norms of international humanitarian aid and has made strictly peaceful populated localities its target, thus inflicting civilian casualties," the ministry said.
The military and political leadership of Azerbaijan "is committing yet another war crime" and bears full responsibility for further escalation of the conflict in the region, it said.
