YEREVAN. Oct 30 (Interfax) - The attacks mounted by Azerbaijani forces in the south-eastern and northern sectors of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone have been repelled, the press service of the Defense Ministry of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) said on Friday morning.
"Throughout the night, units of the NKR Defense Army carried out an operation to track down and neutralize sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy. A large amount of weapons and personnel were eliminated. After midnight, the enemy tried to attack in the south-eastern and northern sectors. The attacks were repulsed. The enemy sustained heavy personnel losses," the ministry said.
Operations to detect Azerbaijani sabotage and reconnaissance groups are continuing, it said.
The fighting has been ongoing in Nagorno-Karabakh since September 27.
