Armenian PM calls for int'l inquiry into mercenaries fighting for Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh

YEREVAN. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has called for an international inquiry into the mercenaries fighting for Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"This issue should be the subject of an international inquiry," Pashinyan said on Facebook.

"It should be recorded that Azerbaijan, which has a population of ten million and enormous oil revenue, admitted after July 2020 that it was unable to resolve its security problems unaided and therefore made use of the services of thousands of mercenaries; we have all-encompassing evidence of that," Pashinyan said.

The engagement of mercenaries and terrorists in the hostilities against the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is a threat not only to Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, but also to international security, he said.
