MOSCOW. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The Severomorsk large anti-submarine ship has wrapped up its three-month deployment, the Russian Northern Fleet said.
"The welcome-home ceremony for the Severomorsk large anti-submarine ship was held at the main base of the Northern Fleet in the city of Severomorsk today upon the ship's return. The Severomorsk acted as the flagship of the ninth Arctic voyage of the Northern Fleet's ships and vessels in the seas of the Arctic Ocean," the fleet's press service said on Friday.
Upon completion of its Arctic deployment, the ship accomplished its mission in the Northern Atlantic together with the Sergei Osipov tanker, the press service said.
The Severomorsk has been at sea for three months. It has covered a distance of over 12,000 nautical miles and has held over ten tactical drills using artillery, missile and submarine warfare weapon systems.
"The ship participated in a marine landing operation in Taimyr and Chukotka and conducted a live-fire exercise on Alexandra Land Island using a Bastion coastal missile system," the fleet's press service said.
