Peace in Karabakh to benefit Armenia - Turkish FM

BAKU. Nov 12 (Interfax) - A lasting peace in Nagorno-Karabakh will benefit all countries in the region, including Armenia, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a press conference in Baku on Thursday.

"Armenia needs to understand that it itself will benefit from peace in the region. We hope that it will happen. Many projects have been implemented in the region for years. They have benefited Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. Armenia can benefit from them too if it maintains normal relations with its neighbors," he said.

Turkey will support all of Azerbaijan's steps, including efforts to develop the freed territories, he said.

"In regards to what steps will be taken and when, all this will be discussed later. Everything will depend on what Azerbaijan wants. We will support any decision," the Turkish foreign minister said.
