Russian, Iraqi FMs to meet in Moscow

MOSCOW. Nov 19 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, who will visit Moscow next week, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a press briefing on Thursday.

"The deputy prime minister and foreign minister of the Republic of Iraq will pay a working visit to Moscow on November 25-26. It will be his first visit to the Russian capital as Iraqi foreign minister," she said.

On November 25, the parties will discuss key issues on today's regional agenda with a focus on the situation around Syria, the Middle East peace process, and the situation in the Persian Gulf and Yemen, she said.

"Special attention will be given to steps to consolidate the efforts to fight international terrorism. The parties also plan to discuss in detail the practical tasks of further promoting bilateral relations in all fields," she said.
