MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Russian military-transport planes have conducted 226 flights to airlift Russian peacekeeping troops and equipment to Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"Another 18 [Ilyushin] Il-76 and two [Antonov] An-124 Ruslan military-transport planes of the Russian Aerospace Forces carrying hardware and personnel of the 15th peacekeeping brigade dispatched to Armenia to take part in the peacekeeping operation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone have landed at Yerevan's airfields. In all, 226 such flights have been performed since November 10," the ministry said.
Upon arrival in Armenia, Russian servicemen unloaded their supplies, weapons, and military hardware, it said.
"Over the past 24 hours, airplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered to Armenia 33 pieces of hardware: Tigr and Rys armored vehicles, off-road trucks, repair and evacuation vehicles, hardware, and other logistics supplies," the ministry said.
The operation to airlift Russian peacekeepers to Nagorno-Karabakh is continuing, it said.
