MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - The ceasefire is holding in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The ceasefire is being implemented along the entire line of contact," Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.
Russian peacekeepers deployed at 23 observation outposts in the northern and southern zones are monitoring the situation and overseeing compliance with the ceasefire round the clock, he said.
Russia is also forming a humanitarian response center in Stepanakert, Konashenkov said.
"The first group of Russian servicemen part of this center has arrived in the Republic of Armenia and has begun working in the city of Stepanakert," he said.
In addition, Russian peacekeepers have escorted more than 4,400 civilians returning to their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh since November 14.
Russia's National Defense Control Center said earlier that the core team of the Russian humanitarian center in Nagorno-Karabakh is due to begin working on Friday, November 20.
The interagency humanitarian response center in Nagorno-Karabakh consists of the North and South humanitarian response coordination centers and a combined unit of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry.
