YEREVAN. Nov 20 (Interfax) - The Armenian police have detained 25 people taking part in protests demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"Twenty-five people have been detained," Armenian police spokesman Edgar Janoyan told Interfax.
As reported earlier, motorists are again blocking roads and creating traffic jams in the center of Yerevan on Friday.
The motorists are protesting against the trilateral statement on Nagorno-Karabakh signed by Pashinyan and are demanding he resign.
A protest demanding the prime minister's resignation has also started in Armenia's second largest city of Gyumri.
Armenian ombudsman Arman Tatoyan wrote on Facebook that groups from his office are on their way to police stations in Yerevan and Gyumri to meet with detained citizens and ensure that their rights are observed.
The opposition parties have launched protests in Yerevan to demand Pashinyan's resignation over signing of the November 9 agreement with Russia and Azerbaijan on the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, the deployment of peacekeepers to the region and the handover of certain Karabakh territories to Azerbaijan.
