Police detain over 90 people during protests in Armenia

YEREVAN. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Armenian police have detained more than 90 protesters who were demanding that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan resign.

"Ninety-three people have been detained, including 85 in Yerevan and eight in Gyumry," Edgar Janoyan, a police representative, told Interfax.

As reported earlier, motorists again blocked roads and created traffic jams in central Yerevan on Friday.

The motorists were protesting the trilateral statement on Nagorno-Karabakh that Pashinyan signed and demanding that he resign.

Gyumry, the second largest city in Armenia, also saw protests demanding Pashinyan's resignation.

Another opposition rally is to be held on Saturday.
