MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Russia has completed the transfer of its peacekeeping taskforce to Nagorno-Karabakh; a total of 1,960 peacekeepers have been deployed, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"The peacekeeping contingent has finished deploying in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and begun accomplishing its tasks. Units of the 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, which forms the core of the peacekeeping taskforce, have been prepared and transferred to the conflict zone. In total, airplanes have performed 250 flights, carrying 1,960 people and 552 pieces of equipment," Shoigu said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
