Agdam district passes into Azerbaijani control, Armenian forces withdrawn - Russian commander in Nagorno-Karabakh

MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - The Russian troops in Nagorno-Karabakh have helped Armenian forces leave the Agdam district and helped to complete the territory's handover to Azerbaijan, Commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent Gen. Lieut. Rustam Muradov said.

"Today, in strict compliance with the trilateral statement, the command of the peacekeeping forces aided by Russian peacekeepers accomplished the mission of withdrawing Armenian armed units in an organized manner from the territory of the Agdam district and transferring it to the Azerbaijani side," Muradov said at a meeting held by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

"Russian peacekeepers understand the whole of their responsibility for the tasks assigned to them and are ready to accomplish them in strict conformity with the orders and instructions given by you and the defense minister," Muradov said to Putin.
