MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - At the request of the Armenian side, Russian border guards will deploy additional troops on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Federal Security Service (FSB) director Alexander Bortnikov said.
"In accordance with the decision made to ensure the border security of the Republic of Armenia and the measures to maintain peace in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as at the request of the Armenian side, the FSB's Border Guard Department in the Republic of Armenia allocated an additional reserve force comprised of 188 servicemen and the necessary quantity of hardware. Border guards will deploy the extra force on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the sector and at organized posts," Bortnikov said at a meeting of the Russian president with the Russian peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh on Friday.
The Azerbaijani side has been informed of this; necessary interaction with partners has been organized, Bortnikov said.
