MINSK. Nov 23 (Interfax) - Belarus will initiate a discussion of pressing problems existing in other countries on international platforms as a retaliatory measure, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said on the Belarus 1 television channel on Sunday.
"We know that some countries, or actually all countries, have plenty of problems. Unless this kind of policy towards Belarus ends, we will initiate such discussions regarding other countries on the platforms provided by various international organizations," Makei said.
At the same time, Belarus is categorically opposed to interference in internal affairs of other countries, he said.
Speaking of further cooperation with the European Union, Makei said Belarus was committed to the "cooperation logic."
"We will never initiate any harmful, destructive actions in regard to our partners," Makei said.
Belarus wants to develop constructive cooperation, he said.
"But if we are put in the harm's way and if any sanctions are imposed upon us, of course, we will have to give a proportionate response. As you know, the European Union has imposed additional sanctions on about 15 persons, so we will also expand our personal sanctions lists with members of the leadership of the European Union and a number of European states," Makei said.
