MINSK. Nov 23 (Interfax) - Russia remains a strategic partner of Belarus, but Minsk will also be developing relations in other directions, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said.
"We have always said that Russia is our strategic ally and main partner. Whether we like it or not, this will always be the main vector, the primary focus of our cooperation. However, Belarus has no intention to reject other directions, either," Makei said in an interview with the Belarus 1 television channel on Sunday.
Over 50% of Belarusian exports "go to countries of the European Union, the far perimeter, the far abroad, other states," Makei said.
"Belarus must not be criticized for trying to carry out a multidimensional policy," Makei said.
"This is how Belarus survives as a state," he said.
