MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed the hope that a face-to-face summit of Permanent Members of the United Nations Security Council will be held as soon as the epidemiological situation permits.
"We hope that the summit will happen and that it will be held in the face-to-face format as soon as the epidemiological situation permits," Putin said when speaking at a credentials ceremony on Tuesday.
"Despite current difficulties and existing differences, it is necessary to actively remove them, to move forward and to promote a uniting international agenda," Putin said.
"That's what we were guided by as we came up with the initiative to hold a summit of UN Security Council Permanent Members, that is, the nations that bear a special responsibility to maintain global security and stability," he said.
