YEREVAN. Nov 26 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has assumed responsibility not only for the situation created by the Karabakh war, but also for future developments.
"All of us are going through hard times, and it is our duty to survive these hard times. As the prime minister, I assume the entire responsibility for the current situation, and I am also aware of my responsibility for the future. The provision of national security and stability is the priority and the absolute necessity, and our entire efforts should be focused on that," Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.
Armenia needs guarantees of further reforms with due account of new challenges, Pashinyan said.
"The primary objective of the government is to assure citizens of the republic that they own the country and master the situation. People should decide whom they will build their future with. We must not allow their faith in the future to be ruined, so it is our task to strengthen and foster this belief," Pashinyan said.
Work will be done to rebuild the war-torn communities in the Syunik and Gegharkunik regions of Armenia, he said.
"Another priority of our work is the search for the missing and the exchange of prisoners. The main problem is that the efficiency of this work does not depend solely on us," Pashinyan said.
