MOSCOW. Nov 26 (Interfax) - The Boiky corvette wrapped up its mission in the English Channel and has entered the Atlantic Ocean, where it will conduct a series of exercises, the Russian Baltic Fleet said on Thursday.
"In the northeastern part of the Atlantic Ocean, the Boiky corvette will practice searching for, detecting, and destroying a mock enemy submarine using its anti-submarine weapons and a Kamov Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter," the fleet said.
The exercises will also include "delivering a missile strike with the use of an Uran anti-ship missile system on a unit of mock enemy ships by carrying out electronic missile launches and ensuring air defense of the ship," it said.
The upcoming drills will be routine, it said.
The Boiky corvette carried out a set of fuel and water replenishment measures both adrift and on the go in the English Channel a few days ago. Anti-terrorist and sabotage defense drills were also conducted.
