The video shows the Tsirkon missile's test launch from on board the Admiral Gorshkov frigate, one of the most advanced ships of Russia's Navy, in the White Sea.
According to the Defense Ministry video, the test launch was performed in the dark.
"The lead frigate of Project 22350, the Admiral Gorshkov, performed a test launch of a Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missile from the White Sea at a complex target in the Barents Sea," the ministry said in a statement.
"According to live recording systems, the Tsirkon hypersonic anti-ship missile successfully hit its marine target at a distance of 450 kilometers. The missile's speed exceeded Mach 8," the ministry said.
"Northern Fleet forces operating in the Barents Sea, among them the Marshal Ustinov missile cruiser and the Admiral Kasatonov frigate, closed the area for the period of the test launch," it said.
