Troops in southern Russia to take part in 10 int'l exercises in 2021

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Dec 1 (Interfax) - The schedule of combat training of the troops of Russia's Southern Military District includes ten international exercises in 2021, the press service for the Southern Military District said.

"At upcoming scheduled bilateral conferences, representatives of the command of the Southern Military District will discuss the timeframe and venues to hold joint exercises with units of the Armed Forces of Abkhazia, Armenia, Algeria, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Turkey, and South Ossetia," the statement said.

The troops of the military district held joint exercises with the Armed Forces of Egypt, Pakistan, Armenia, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Myanmar and Iran in 2020, it said.

"The most largescale event of international military-technical cooperation in 2020 was the Caucasus 2020 strategic command-post exercise, during which servicemen of the Southern Military District have confidently and efficiently acted as part of the coalition group of troops of China, Pakistan, Belarus, Armenia, and Myanmar," the statement said.
