MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - Russian peacekeepers are continuing to demine social facilities in Nagorno-Karabakh; the premises of Stepanakert General Education School No. 10 were examined and the located explosive devices were defused over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
"Russian servicemen from the Humanitarian Demining Center have searched the school building and the adjoining territory for explosive devices. In turn, specialists of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides assisted in the resumption of power and heating supply and the safe delivery of school equipment and supplies," the ministry said in a statement seen by Interfax.
Other educational establishments are due to reopen shortly with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers, the ministry said.
As of this date, engineering units have cleared over 34 hectares of grounds and about 12 kilometers of roads of mines, have checked over 110 homes and social facilities, and have detected and neutralized 1,077 explosive devices in Nagorno-Karabakh, the ministry said.
