Lavrov sees Libyan oil industry recovering as favorable factor for general situation there

MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - The resumption of the Libyan oil industry's operations could have a favorable effect on the general situation in the country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"The resumption of the Libyan oil industry's operations may have a favorable effect on the general situation in Libya. The command of the Libyan National Army and representatives of the Tripoli administration have reached agreements on this account," Lavrov said in an address to the participants at the Rome 2020 Mediterranean Dialogues (MED) conference.

It is important to make sure that the revenues from exports of mineral resources "are distributed fairly and transparently in the interests of the entire Libyan population and are used efficiently to rebuild the devastated economy," he said.
