Over 770 refugees return from Armenia to Stepanakert in past 24 hours - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - Russian peacekeepers have accompanied more busses carrying refugees returning to Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

"Today buses delivered 778 people from Yerevan to Stepanakert. The buses were accompanied by Russian peacekeeping and military police patrols," the ministry said.

"The Russian peacekeepers are providing round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and ceasefire compliance from 23 observation posts. The Russian peacekeepers are ensuring the safe return of citizens to their homes, humanitarian aid is being provided and civilian infrastructure is being restored," the ministry said.

"In all, more than 34,500 refugees have now returned to their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh."
