Armenian parliamentary majority member calls for establishing diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan

YEREVAN. Dec 8 (Interfax) - Andranik Kocharyan, the head of the Armenian parliamentary Defense and National Security Commission and a member of the ruling faction My Step, has called for starting a dialogue and establishing diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan.

"We should be honest and accept the defeat fully and responsibly. We have lost both on the battlefield, morally, and psychologically. We should overcome this situation as soon as possible. We need to try to start a dialogue with the victor, however difficult it might be," Kocharyan said at the parliament on Tuesday.

The establishment of diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan "might change the expected prospects," he said.
